Two sacroiliac joints located in the back, between the buttocks are the border between sacrum and ilium.

The disease is easy to be misdiagnosed with waist pain, degenerative lumbar spine and sciatica.

Physicians can check for detection of sacroiliac joint arthritis by the following procedure: Patients lie in log position, legs outstretched, physician pressed into the pelvic bone, the patient will feel pain in the region of sacroiliac joints. Or the patients lie in soldier position, legs outstretched, the doctor pressed into the pelvic bone from up to down following the pelvis posture, the patient will feel pain in the sacroiliac joints. Take an X-ray for pelvis and sacroiliac joints can see the hurt in varying degrees.

For example, in the late stages, the joint can stick completely, even we cannot distinguish the sacroiliac joints anymore. In the x-ray, we can see other images, such as purulent arthritis, inflammation of the hip and pelvic spines. It should be noted that pregnant women do not absolute take an X- ray because it may cause damage to the fetus.
